SmartCity Festival 2020

How has the Covid19 pandemic accelerated the development of “smart” solutions and cities?

This year’s 4th International “SMART CITY Festival 2020” will be held on October 22nd and 23rd, organized by the “Friedrich Naumann” Foundation in the Western Balkans and partners with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Due to the current pandemic, the festival will, unlike in previous years, be organized in an online format, while the registration of interested attendees is completely free.

The slogan of this year’s festival is “Innovation, Resilience, Sustainability”, and the panel discussions will discuss the challenges that accompany the global Covid-19 pandemic and the application of digital technologies, an adaptation of urban environments to modern society, but also the integration of smart solutions and modern technology. a better quality of life for citizens.

“SMART CITY Festival 2020” will gather, as every year, eminent domestic and foreign experts and lecturers in the field of information technology, economics, public administration, business, education, and architecture.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear interesting lectures, with the opportunity to interactively participate in conversations and debates with panelists. This year’s focus of the festival will be on understanding and perceiving the global crisis caused by the coronavirus as an opportunity to activate and encourage innovative solutions.

At the moment, one of the important challenges is to improve the process of raising the “resilience” of cities, in order to bridge the gap between rural and urban areas, especially in the current context, given that the pandemic has posed hitherto unknown challenges in almost all areas.

Detailed information about the program and guests is available on the website www.festival.smartcity.education, where you can also register participants completely free of charge.
