What does the iPhone 13 bring us?

A new model of iPhone is expected to go on sale this September. It is still not known for sure what are features that will adorn it, but we will look back at what is being said around the world.

Design

It is rumored that Apple will continue to offer four iPhones in 2021, with unchanged sizes. That means that we will have:

• iPhone mini – size 5.4 inches
• Low-cost iPhone – 6.1 inches in size
• Pro model – 6.1 inches
• Pro Max model – 6.7 inches

It is expected that there will be no major design changes, but it is believed that it will be heavier – due to larger batteries. Rumors also suggest that it will come in matte black with a new stainless steel coating that reduces fingerprints and stains. There was also thought of a bronze-like orange color – which probably won’t happen.

Several reputable sources have pointed out that the iPhone 13 will have a smaller notch, including Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

There will be no USB-C port. The iPhone 13, and future devices, will continue to use Lightning ports until MagSafe accessories allow the design of iPhone devices without ports.

It is also speculated that Apple is testing an in-screen Touch ID fingerprint reader. That would mark a major change in the biometric systems that Apple has used flagship devices since the launch of the iPhone X. However, Ming-Chi Kuo did not mention the under-display Touch ID for the iPhone 13.

Display

It is believed that, like the Apple Watch, the iPhone 13 will have an always-on display. That would allow some data, such as time, to be displayed on the lock screen, even when it is turned off. Notifications will be displayed, but the screen will not light up completely.

Processor

For this device, Apple will use a 5nm+ A15 chip. The chip will be manufactured by TSMC. Not much is known about it yet, but new chip designs always bring improved speed and efficiency.

Larger batteries

Larger batteries on the iPhone 13 can result in longer battery life. According to the allegations, the battery is expected to look like this:

• iPhone 13 Pro Max – 4352mAh
• iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro – 3095mAh
• iPhone 13 mini – 2406mAh

In addition, it is believed that they can support even higher charging speeds with support for 25W power adapters.

Storage

This information comes from an unreliable source, but it is rumored that the iPhone 13 will have up to 1TB of storage space. There is still no confirmation of this from a reliable source.

Camera

Significant camera improvements are expected to be introduced this year. It will have the greatest impact on motion stabilization and low light, and it is believed that the function will also be available for the Wide lens or the Ultra-Wide lens for Pro models. The addition of the option to record higher quality videos in ProRes format is also emphasized. This format is designed for professional video editors and should result in large file sizes with HD and 4K resolution options. Photos will get a filter-like system that will enhance the colors and appearance.
